Instant messaging app WhatsApp is discontinuing some smartphones from today. This means that some users will no longer be able to use WhatsApp on their smartphones. WhatsApp has added some new features to its platform. These features can only work on the new version of the software. In such a case, the company says that some smartphones will not support these features of WhatsApp.

WhatsApp released list:

WhatsApp has released a list of smartphones that WhatsApp will no longer support. Some of these devices are also where WhatsApp support can be turned off. Apart from this, the company has also said that in 2020, it will stop the WhatsApp support on Android smartphones working on android gingerbread and iOS 7 or lower versions. On the support page of WhatsApp, it is reported that the company is not supporting new features on some operating systems. In such cases, users who are using the old software should upgrade to the new version.

On this software, WhatsApp supports:

2.3.3 Older than Android version

Windows Phone 8.0 or older

iPhone 3GS / iOS 6

Nokia Symbian S60

BlackBerry Software and BlackBerry 10

On these software, WhatsApp will turn off:

Nokia S40 (December 31, 2018)

Android version 2.3.7 or earlier (February 1, 2020)

iOS 7 or older version (February 1, 2020)

WhatsApp will work on these versions:

Version of Android version 4.0 or above

iPhone version iOS 8 or above

Windows Phone 8.1 or above version
